Welcome to CapeConversation: an open, ecumenical, inclusive online space with a (slight) emphasis on the Cape Town area. Anyone interested in emergent expressions of Spirituality is invited to contribute, either by posting or response. If you are interested in posting something, please respond to a post saying so.

The opinions expressed here are not representative of any particular organisation, nor even of any particular belief system. However, the “emergent conversation” has its roots in a Christianity for the 21st Century, and tends to attract those disaffected or dissatisfied by tradition or mainstream religion, so expect this emphasis. If you don’t come from a similar history, and you are interested in seeking spirituality, truth, or relevance, you are welcome to express your views here. Dogmatism and fundamentalism, be it Christian, Islamic, Humanist or Materialist is not encouraged. Having said that those struggling to emerge from such environments, who may have doubts and questions about how to move forward, need not fear rejection.

The key ethos has to do with the process of discovery and the willingness to converse.
